Flying Bird Freedom Model: New Study Reimagines Freedom Through the “Constraint Model”

March 7, 2025 --- A remarkable study conducted by Ebenezer Gabriels and Abigail Gabriels, researchers at Ebenezer Gabriels Research, is redefining what it means to be truly free.” Titled the Flying Bird/Freedom Model, their work suggests that freedom isn’t found by shedding all limits but by striking a dynamic balance between self-directed restraint and communal or societal considerations.

Rethinking Constraints
While many have viewed "constraints" as obstacles to freedom, the Gabriels'  posits that certain boundaries- whether moral codes, societal norms, or personal discipline—actually empower individuals to make more intentional, fulfilling choices.

"We kept seeing how freedom and constraints aren’t at war," said Ebenezer Gabriels, lead researcher. "They can coexist to create a more meaningful sense of autonomy. Too little structure can be as limiting as too much."

"When internal discipline is too loose or external standards too overwhelming, people lose clarity," explained Abigail Gabriels, co-author of the study. "Our model shows how calibrating these constraints leads to genuine liberation—an intentional, purpose-driven way to live."
